George Weigel, a conservative Roman Catholic social ethicist, is a senior fellow and the John M. Olin Chair in Religion and American Democracy at the Ethics and Public Policy Center in Washington, D. C. He is the author of The Final Revolution, which details John Paul II's crucial role in the collapse of European communism, and Witness to Hope: The Biography of John Paul II. He earned his M.A. from the University of St. Michael's College in Toronto, and his B.A. from St. Mary's Seminary and University in Baltimore.
