| For general introductions to Christian engagement with literature, you might try one of the following: Roger Lundin, Literature through the Eyes of Faith (Harper and Row, 1989); Leland Ryken, Windows to the World: Literature in Christian Perspective (Zondervan, 1985); and Gene Edward Veith, Jr., Reading Between the Lines: A Christian Guide to Literature, (Crossway Books, 1990). Jill Paton Walsh is an accomplished and award-winning novelist, many of whose books are available in the U.S. Some of her books are mystery novels, others historical fiction, still others children's books.
