Steven L. Nock is a professor of sociology, the director of the Marriage Matters project, and co-director of the Center for Children, Families, and the Law at the University of Virginia. He earned his Ph.D. at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. He has served on the faculty at Tulan University and the National Academy of Sciences. His research interests include the causes and consequences of change in the American family.
